The Inna Protein origin story

Our own journey began with a simple goal: create a plant-based protein that tasted good, felt smooth, and delivered on quality. We were tired of gritty, flavourless protein powders that were more of a chore than a pleasure. After discovering Victorian-grown faba bean protein, everything changed.The smooth creaminess of faba beans was unlike anything we'd tried before. Fast forward two years, and we’ve fine-tuned our product to deliver the tastiest, smoothest, and most nutrient-dense plant protein available. With an 88% protein content and nothing but clean, natural ingredients, we’re confident you’ll love the results.

Who we are

Inna Protein (formerly Pure Plant Protein) is a family-owned, Australian-based business with deep roots in food technology. Our expertise in nutrition and drink-making stretches back over 15 years and spans multiple countries. We design, test, formulate, blend, and pack all of our products in-house, using our state-of-the-art, HACCP-certified production facility nestled in the foothills of the Yarra Valley, just outside of Melbourne.We’re driven by a passion for health, sustainability, and plant-based living. Everyone on our team believes in the power of simple, natural nutrition that helps you feel better and perform at your best.

Why we’re here

We spent years using plant-based proteins, but we were consistently underwhelmed. The options available were often gritty, lacked flavour, or were filled with artificial additives. Worse, many brands sacrificed protein content for fake taste or relied on unsustainable practices. As a contract drink blending business, we frequently worked with protein companies. That’s when we noticed bad industry practices—product ratios that didn’t match the label, or "superfood" extracts so under-dosed they were barely effective. People care about what they put into their bodies, and they deserve better. So, we created Inna Protein (formerly Pure Plant Protein)—a clean, transparent, and sustainable protein powder that checks all the boxes.

How is it made?

At Inna Protein we produce in-house so we can oversee every stage of the protein blend. Our existing supplier base and industry experience means we have access to the best raw ingredients available. We only use natural, ethically sourced ingredients. We like to keep it simple - meaning quality protein, a high protein percentage and a limit on having too many ingredients is what we aim for. Supplements in proteins often aren’t what they seem, so if you’re wanting supplementation we suggest you add your own extracts to our protein.We focus on natural ingredients, therefore only using natural, fruit-derived flavours and non-artificial sweeteners.

We believe the best plant proteins are grown right here in Australia. That’s why we use only pure, Australian-grown faba bean protein. Not only does it taste better, but it also contains a massive 88% protein content. Our Australian faba beans mix beautifully, contain no grit and are produced with a carbon footprint ten times less than regularly consumed animal proteins. There’s simply no downside.
